We want to hear from you! Check back for updates including upcoming events and opportunities for stakeholder engagement and to follow along with this process.

Background

The Sacramento County organization, community and economy has undergone significant change since the last Economic Development Strategic Plan (EDSP) in 2014. With this transition comes an opportunity to renew the organization’s vision, build on the work already accomplished or underway, and create a new strategic direction. An updated EDSP will provide the framework for prioritizing investments and allocating resources to support equitable economic growth and job creation in Sacramento County.

On January 9, 2024, the Board of Supervisors authorized the Office of Economic Development (OED) to enter into an agreement with HR&A Advisors, Inc. (HR&A) for EDSP services.  Selected through a highly competitive Request for Proposals process, HR&A is a consulting firm with four decades of experience crafting economic development solutions for cities, counties and special districts.

Informing the Strategic Direction

Throughout 2024, HR&A will conduct research and analysis, facilitate inclusive stakeholder engagement, and formulate a strategy along with implementation guidance for activating new initiatives and generating enhanced value.
