Redevelopment Successor Agency

Overview

Successor Agency Office:
In accordance with ABx1 26, the Board of Supervisors voted on January 24, 2012, to dissolve the County’s Redevelopment Agency (RDA) and designated the County as the Successor Agency for the County Redevelopment Agency. 

Oversight Board 

Each Successor Agency within Sacramento County has an Oversight Board established to supervise its activities. Each Oversight Board has a fiduciary responsibility to holders of Enforceable Obligations and the taxing entities that benefit from distributions of property tax and other revenues. Each Oversight Board is tasked with:

  • The establishment of new repayment terms for outstanding loans
  • Refunding outstanding bonds/debt of the former redevelopment agency to provide savings
  • Setting aside amounts in reserves as required by indentures, trust indentures, or similar documents governing the issuance of outstanding redevelopment agency bonds
  • Merging project areas
  • Continuing to accept state/federal grants that require matching funds from the successor agency
  • Agreements to retain properties or other assets by the city or county
  • Establishment of the Recognized Obligation Payment Schedule
  • A request by the successor agency to pledge property tax revenues

In accordance with the Health and Safety Code Section 34179, the Board of Supervisors voted to appoint a seven-member Oversight Board for the Sacramento County Successor Agency, as listed below:

  • LaShelle Dozier, County of Sacramento appointee 
  • Joe Flores, County of Sacramento Public at large appointee 
  • Troy Givans, County of Sacramento appointee 
  • Dr. Michael Marion Jr., City of Sacramento appointee
  • Tammy Sanchez, Sacramento County Office of Education appointee 
  • Amanda Thomas, Sacramento Metro Fire District appointee 
  • Cory Wathen, California Community Colleges appointee
